Where & When: What to Do Tonight

Outdoor dance, unscripted film, and a monster truck rally keep things fun tonight

After being stuck inside by the heat and thunderstorms, bust a move at the 8th Annual Metro DC Dances show at Carter Barron Amphitheater in Rock Creek Park. Performers include Contradiction Dance, the New School of Dance Arts, and the Next Reflex Dance Collective. Free; 7:30.

Washington Improv Theater hosts the opening night of the latest Neutrino Video Project. The movies, the brainchild of New York-based improv team Neutrino, are unscripted flicks, shot, edited, and scored by the participants. They’ve been produced in cities across the United States and in Canada. A reception precedes the show. Tickets $30 ; 8 PM.

The 62nd Montgomery County Agricultural Fair kicks off its weeklong celebration in Gaithersburg. Events include a demolition derby, rodeo, a monster-truck show, and standbys such as a tractor pull and carnival rides. Gates open 3 to midnight. General admission is $10; children under age 11 free. Tickets are available in advance or at the fair.
