Where & When: What to Do Tonight

Belgian beers, human trafficking, and glittery glam rock

Starting at 5, the Columbia Heights bar Room 11 is offering two beers that are rarely seen outside of Victory Brewing Company’s local distribution in Downingtown, Pennsylvania: the rare Victorian beers Gassy Jack Bitter and Mad King Weiss. A Victory representative, Joe Gold, will be on hand from 6 to 8. Free.

If you’re in the mood for issues rather than libations, Louise Shelley, author of Human Trafficking: A Global Perspective, discusses her book at Politics and Prose. Shelley is an expert on transnational crime and terrorism and is a professor in the School of Public Policy at George Mason University. Free. 7 pm.

DAR Constitution Hall hosts the American pop-rock band Scissor Sisters for a night of disco, glam-rock, and a glittery pinch of the New York City club scene. The five-member band is promoting its third album, Night Work. Click here to purchase tickets ($48.85). 7 pm.
