Where & When: What to Do Tonight

Tonight, pepper and potatoes are the spice of life

A favorite of the surf-and-ski scene, Pepper hits the 9:30 Club tonight. Known for its blend of rock and Pacific-island sounds, the band is performing with Brother Ali and Pour Habit. 7 PM. Buy tickets ($20) here.

Take a peak inside Washington’s art scene with Georgetown Gallery Gaze. Participating galleries are offering live music, food, and drinks, and some artists will be on hand. Free; 5 to 8. For a list and map of galleries, click here.

The United States Botanic Garden is looking beyond the French fry and celebrating the potato in all its forms. The potato beverage sounds questionable to us—instead, try a dish from Peru or Thailand. Diners can also tour the gardens. 6:30 to 8:30. To register and buy tickets ($35), call 202-225-1116.
