Curator Lynne Cook will lead a walking tour of the Hirshhorn Museum’s new show, “Blinky Palermo: Retrospective 1964-1977.” In addition, the museum will be open after regular hours tonight, so have a look at a number of works by the forward-thinking artist. Free.

Galactic, a New Orleans-based jazz and funk group is at the 9:30 Club. It will be playing music from its newest album, Ya-Ka-May. 7 PM; buy tickets ($25) at Ticket Fly.

’95 Live is a dance party with the best of ’90s hip-hop, reggae, electro, and more. As a bonus, there’s free Champagne for women from 9 to 11. At Steve’s Bar Room (1337 Connecticut Ave., NW); no cover.

Friday, February 25
Catch a couple of funny weirdos in Washington. Saturday Night Live cast member Fred Armisen is at the Black Cat at 8. Buy tickets ($25) at Ticket Alternative. Or see SNL alum Jon Lovitz at Arlington Cinema ’N’ Drafthouse. Get tickets ($30) at the venue’s Web site. Two performances at 6:15 and 9:30; Lovitz also performs Saturday at 6:30 and 9:30.

Edward Albee’s early one-act “The Zoo Story” has been expanded into the full-length play At Home at the Zoo. It opens tonight at Arena Stage as part of the theater’s festival celebrating the playwright. See it through April 24. Buy tickets ($40) through Arena’s Web site.

Dance the night away at DC9’s Liberation dance party in celebration of the club’s seventh anniversary. The performance group Dolchnakov Brigade is on the bill, and revelers can enjoy an open bar of rail drinks from 9 to 10:30. Purchase tickets ($8) at Ticket Alternative.

Saturday, February 26
The Silk Road Dance Company presents Haft Paykar: Seven Beauties, a dance based on a 12th century Persian epic poem. The choreography draws on dance traditions from Russia, North Africa, China, Turkey and more. At the Atlas Performing Arts Center; 2 pm. Get tickets ($15) at Vendini or at the door.

For another international dance fix, check out the Elite 8 Bhangra Invitational at the Warner Theatre. The best of the best of this fast-paced Indian dance from across the United States and Canada show what they can do. Get tickets ($25 to $40) at Elite 8’s Web site.

During the Crystal City Wine Walk, browse the shops in Crystal City while stopping periodically to rest and imbibe at “aid stations” along the way. Each participant has the chance to taste 20 of the 45 wines available. Buy tickets ($30) at the Washington Wine Academy site. 2 to 6:30.

Jete Untamed is the tenth-anniversary celebration of the Washington Ballet’s Jeté Society. Instead of pointe shoes and tutus, this party, held at a top-secret waterfront location, has fire breathers, carnival games, an open bar, and lots of dancing. Tickets ($95 to $150) at the group’s Web site. 9 PM to 2 AM.

Patriot Harley Davidson in Fairfax (9739 Fairfax Blvd.) may be an unlikely art gallery, but motorcycles aren’t exactly typical art. “Live Fast” showcases custom bikes as well as other art inspired by “gasoline, oil, and freedom.” The opening reception is at 5. Free; RSVP to livefast@artwhino.com

Sunday, February 27
Spend a day experimenting with live music, performance art, and playing with bean bags at the Gaia Closing Event of the Fridge’s Month of Living Art. Several acts are performing, including the Unknown and Flex Matthews. 2 to 8; get tickets ($15) at Brown Paper Tickets.

Watch Hollywood’s biggest night in style at the Jefferson hotel’s Quill bar. Make your pick for best picture and then indulge in an inspired cocktail, such as On the Rocks ( in honor of 127 Hours) or a Black and White Margarita (Black Swan). Free, but reserved seating and a special menu are available for $95. 6 PM.

For the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hear Hamlet’s “To be or not to be” speech in Klingon (yes, from Star Trek) head to Artisphere for “By Any Other Name: An Evening of Shakespeare in Klingon.” It’s a taping for a BBC program and features performers from the Washington Shakespeare Company and an appearance by Marc Okrand, creator of the Klingon language.
