Monday, August 29
Josh Norris will mystify Madhatter patrons tonight with illusions and card tricks. Hailed as DC’s “best public artist” by the Washington City Paper, Norris has been performing magic for more than a decade. Enjoy half-price bottles of wine, two-for-one appetizers, and free kid’s meals. 6:30 to 8:30 PM.

Tuesday, August 30
Award-wining pianist Anna Shelest is performing at the Kennedy Center Tonight. The Ukraine-native made her orchestral debut with the Kharkiv Symphony Orchestra at the tender age of 12. You can sample some of her performances here. Free; 6 PM.

Wednesday, August 31
Skateboard legend Tony Hawk and his Birdhouse Skateboards team are bringing their MIA to NYC Tour to DC. Drop by the Hill Street Skatepark (100 Hill St., Frederick) at 4 PM for a night of demos, halfpipe events, Tech Deck games, and more. This year’s line-up includes Kevin Staab, Willy Santos, Aaron “Jaws” Homoki, Riley Hawk, and Shawn Hale, to name a few.

Thursday, September 1
It may be the first of September, but you can still squeeze the last bit of summer out of Local 16’s Sizzler party. Enjoy $5 drinks and extended happy hour specials. A portion of bar sales will benefit various DC programs dedicated to fighting hunger. Tickets ($10) can be purchased through PayPal or at the door ($15). 6 to 10 PM.
