SHOPPING:
The District Sample Sale is back with haute deals from more than 20 clothing and accessory designers. Stop by 1919 M Street, Northwest, for an evening of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, and, of course, fashion. Proceeds will benefit Weave, a program dedicated to the aiding victims of domestic abuse. Tickets ($40) can be purchased through Event Farm. 6:30 to 9 PM.

Tuesday, September 27
ART:
Don’t miss opening night of Skynear Designs Gallery’s new Romero Britto exhibit. The Brazilian artist combines elements of cubism and pop to create pieces bursting with “warmth, optimism, and love—Matisse channeling Picasso by way of Hello Kitty,” according to the New York Times. AM Wine Shoppe will be serving wines from around the world. Tickets (free) can be reserved though Eventbrite. 5:30 to 7:30 PM.

Wednesday, September 28
THEATER:
Tonight is the opening night for Studio Theatre’s newest production Lungs, in which a couple struggles with bringing a child into a world with climate change. Tickets ($20) can be purchased through the theater’s Web site. The play runs through October 16. 7:30 PM.
