Fiona Apple, Public Enemy, and Mayer Hawthorne: Get Your Tickets

Alternative singer-songwriter and pianist Fiona Apple comes to the Sixth & I Historic Synagogue on Wednesday, March 21. Her last album, Extraordinary Machine, released in 2005, was described by the New Yorker as “a record that makes converts out of doubters.” Tickets ($45) go on sale Friday, February 24, at 10 AM through Ticketmaster.

Hip-hop legends Public Enemy, Epmd, Doug E. Fresh, Black Sheep, and Kool Moe D take the stage at DAR Constitution Hall as part of the Hip Hop Gods Tour on Friday, March 23. Tickets ($49 to $75) are on sale now through Ticketmaster.

Mayer Hawthorne and the County, the neo-soul creation of DJ Andrew Cohen, come to the 9:30 Club on Tuesday, April 17. Cohen’s studio album A Strange Arrangement was acclaimed for its covers of obscure midcentury motion singles and soul-infused original work. Tickets ($20) are on sale now through Ticketfly.

Terius Youngdell Nash, a.k.a. The-Dream, performs at the Fillmore Silver Spring on Saturday, March 17. He has co-written hits including Rihanna’s “Umbrella” and Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies,” while also singing and producing his own hip-hop. Tickets ($25) go on sale Friday, February 24, at 10 AM through Live Nation

Punk rockers Less Than Jake play the Rock & Roll Hotel Friday, May 18. The group, which formed in Gainesville, Florida, in 1992, have made regular appearances on the Warped Tour. Their 2003 album, Anthem, had angsty teens across the nation thronging local independent record stores. Tickets ($18) go on sale Friday, February 24, at 10 AM, through Rock & Roll Hotel.
