A three-course prix-fixe meal featuring lobster salad, pheasant breast, and filet mignon highlights the New Year’s

Bandolero’s Mexican Cowboy Countdown event will treat guests to regular menu items

BLT Steak

Chef
Jon Mathieson plans to go all out on the 31st with a special truffle-heavy menu including surf
and turf with filet mignon, Maine lobster, and French truffles; pan-seared day-boat
scallops with foie gras and savoy cabbage fondue; and a truffle duo of soup and risotto.
Traveling around the downtown steakhouse will be a Champagne and caviar cart with
three different Osetra and domestic caviars plus grower Champagnes and vintage Dom
Perignon (available for $20 to $80 by the glass).

Blue Duck Tavern

Blue Duck Tavern will have two seatings on December 31. Both feature a three-course
menu with a choice of appetizer, entrée, and dessert. The adjoining hotel is hosting

favors, and live entertainment.

Hank’s Oyster Bar

Hank’s Oyster Bar is taking New Year’s Eve reservations at all three locations. There
will be an open bar and all-you-can-eat oysters at the Pennsylvania Avenue location,
and couples who reserve a spot at the Dupont restaurant will receive a free bottle
of Champagne.

Jack Rose

The Adams Morgan party spots hosts two events on December 31. Gear up for a big night
on the town with a pig roast featuring plenty of pork, plus beers and punches. Come
later in the evening for an open bar, music from a deejay, cigar specials, a midnight
Champagne toast, and complimentary passed hors d’oeuvres.

The Tom Principato Band will be performing at the Mad Fox Brewing Company while guests

Napoleon Bistro

The French spot in Adams Morgan is doing a four-course tasting menu—order courses individually at the bar—and hosting two parties this year. Parties are in the upstairs bar and the Champagne Lounge.

Whether they choose the four- or five-course meal, 901’s New Year’s Eve guests will be treated to stone-crab claw, seared scallop
risotto, and pumpkin cheesecake. Guests of the first time slot will receive a complimentary
glass of Champagne, while each couple attending the later seating will get a complimentary
bottle.

There will be Oaxaca-inspired four- and five-course feasts at Oyamel on the 31st at José Andrés’s Penn Quarter Mexican spot, both of which include
spoons of 36-hour pork belly with quail egg and caviar, tacos al pastor, and
bistec a la parrilla. The second seating includes a traditional cava toast at midnight.

Smith Commons is celebrating the new year and its own second anniversary with menu
