Liz Wegrzyn and Chris Jakubiec’s relationship milestones stretched across three states. The two met in San Diego at the Ivy Hotel, where Chris was executive sous chef at Quarter Kitchen and Liz was a front-desk agent and nightclub booking coordinator. A friendship eventually turned into romance, and they had their first date at San Diego’s Mission Beach. Five years later, Chris, now executive chef of Plume at the Jefferson Hotel, proposed to Liz, now a makeup artist, in New York’s Central Park. A stunning, vintage-inspired wedding full of DIY details and personal touches followed at Charlottesville’s Keswick Vineyards a year later.
