Celebrate Taco Tuesday With Free Taco Bell and More DC Specials

Thanks to the Golden State Warriors, Taco Bell is giving out free Doritos Locos tacos to everyone in America today from 2 to 6 p.m. To be clear, these are tacos served in shells made out of Nacho Cheese, Cool Ranch, or Fiery Doritos, an idea so brilliant it was basically inevitable.

The Warriors’ game 4 win, “stolen” on the road in Cleveland, satisfied the demands of Taco Bell’s Steal a Game, Steal a Taco promotion. For one day only, we can all Live Más for less. The Cavaliers may have taken home the championship, but the Splash Brothers are the reason we can all take home cheesy tacos.

And, if the Taco Bell freebie doesn’t satisfy your #TacoTuesday cravings,  you could always try out one of these local specials.

El Centro D.F.

1819 14th St. NW

You can choose between three of the chef’s choice tacos and get them for two bucks all night long. Get there before 7 for a rooftop happy hour that features $5 margaritas, sangria, wine and Mexican beers.

Oyamel Cocina Mexicana

401 7th St. NW

From 4 to 6 p.m., Oyamel offers their authentic Mexican tacos, two for $4. The Hora Feliz deal gives diners the option of having house-made corn tortillas stuffed with shredded pork and chorizo, shredded beef braised in a tangy sauce, vegetarian frijoles refritos, Yucatan-style pit-barbecued pork, or a confit of baby pig and pork rinds.

Capitol Lounge

229 Pennsylvania Ave. SE

Okay, so maybe your Tuesday is over-booked, but you still want cheap tacos. We found a Wednesday spot where tacos cost just a buck from 4 to 8 p.m. There is a two drink minimum, but all happy hour drinks are a $1 off.
