Check Out This Map of 10 Metro-Accessible Running Trails in Washington

The sun is finally shining, and there’s no better time to dust off your running shoes and start hitting the trails again. But where to begin? Just ask Park Van Ness, who put together this handy dandy map of some of the area’s best Metro-accessible running trails.

The ten featured trails were selected with input from runners and running clubs, and they put an emphasis on Metro proximity since many Washingtonians (yours truly included) are car-free. Though some of the trails are obvious ones that any outdoorsy DC dweller will know, there are a few that are more, shall we say, off the beaten path. The trails included are: Western Ridge Trail in Rock Creek Park, a Roosevelt Island trail, Custis Trail, Mount Vernon Trail, Anacostia Riverwalk Trail, The National Mall loop, Melvin Hazen Trail, Hains Point, Chesapeake & Ohio Canal Trail, and Capital Crescent Trail.
