The Capital Region Is Gaining Its First Infinity Ballroom

The Capital Region Is Gaining Its First Infinity Ballroom
Tweet Share

Most people have heard of infinity pools, but what about an infinity ballroom? RiverView Ballroom, a dynamic, freestanding venue featuring 270 degrees of floor-to-ceiling windows, is set to open May 12 along the Potomac River at Gaylord National Resort in National Harbor, Maryland.

Upon entering the contemporary designed ballroom, the venue gives the illusion of floating on top of the river – giving it its infinity characterization. The structure also comes with a suspension roof that allows the ballroom to remain column-free and provide guests unobstructed, panoramic views of the Potomac and its breathtaking sunsets.

RiverView Ballroom is shaping up to be the premiere event venue in the Capital Region. With 16,000 square feet of event space and two outdoor terraces, the ballroom offers flexibility for both indoor and outdoor functions with a view bar none that includes National Harbor’s signature Capital Wheel.

Perfect for both weddings and social events, the space offers event-goers their own private venue with cutting-edge technology, impeccable service and its own custom-designed menus.

Speaking of food, the resort’s executive chef has put together innovative, interactive menus of fresh, local fare with a focus on sustainability. Guests will be able to choose between themed menus designed for every palate that offer expert culinarians and mixologists to assist attendees in making their own culinary creations for a more experiential event.

The menu flavors will cross continents and borders, including Penang and Malaysian, Cuban, Southern Barbeque and Chesapeake Bay offerings featuring local artisans and farmers. Taking the farm-to-table concept a bit further, one menu even offers dishes prepared from foods acquired within a 150-mile radius that is sure to put the Mid-Atlantic harvest on center stage. This, of course, includes Maryland’s famous blue crabs.

While the venue was designed to allow its guests to feel as if they are in their own world, attendees also will have access to all of the amenities that Gaylord National offers. With nearly 2,000 rooms, a full-service resort spa, award-winning dining, entertainment and industry-leading event experts at guests’ disposal, RiverView Ballroom maintains Gaylord Hotels’ philosophy of having everything a guest needs in one place.

As Washingtonians look to plan their next event, RiverView Ballroom is sure to be the hottest new venue to book in the Capital Region. With its picturesque, epic river view backdrop, planners definitely won’t have to worry about the setting – as photo opportunities are endless.
