José Andrés‘ latest venture may just be his biggest yet. He’s teaming up with two of the world’s top chefs—brothers Ferran and Albert Adrià of the famed (and defunct) elBulli in Spain—to open a 35,000-square-foot Spanish food hall with tapas, gourmet goods, wine, wood-fired paella, and much more.
Unfortunately, it’s not in DC. You’ll have to head to New York in late 2018 to check it out.
Although Andrés is regarded as a godfather of the DC dining scene, he’s not a total stranger to New York. He lived and worked there when he first arrived in America from Spain at the age of 19. In a press release, he says he’s been dreaming of opening something there ever since. (Andrés did not immediately return a phone call for comment.) For the Adrià brothers, this will be their first venture in America.
Restaurateur Danny Meyer, the force behind Shake Shack and a slew of upscale New York eateries, was initially in talks for the Hudson Yards food hall, according to the New York Post, which first reported the news. It will be located under the High Line at 30th Street and 10th Avenue.
