The 2017 wedding season has hit the Washington area and soon, brides and grooms will be walking down the aisle! Whether you are planning your own wedding, a relative, best friend or a wedding guest this summer, we’ve asked Dr. Soheila Rostami and Dr. Maryam Nazemzadeh of Sanctuary Cosmetic Center for their top wedding beauty advice for the newly engaged, soon-to-be married couples and their guests.
Time is of the Essence When Preparing for a Major Life Event
For the newly engaged there is so much on your plate! Where? When? Who? Don’t forget yourself in the process. Dr. Rostami has seen many patients that leave beauty until the last minute. “Fortunately, there are plenty of no-downtime options to beautify within a few months of the big event. However, I strongly recommend that patients start planning their cosmetics when they secure the venue–at least a year out! Especially if a patient is considering surgery because optimal results can take up to a year. By planning ahead, the cost of many of these procedures can easily considered in the overall budget and will help alleviate the stress and accomplish your beauty goals far in advance of the big day.”
Dr. Nazemzadeh knows the time pressure of a wedding all too well from her experience a few years ago. “I always tell my clients that the procedures we do leading up to the wedding will help take the pressure off the last-minute appointment dash.”
Wedding Trends: Top Requested Procedures for 2017 Wedding Season
According to Dr. Rostami, the top procedures that brides or grooms request include; assistance with weight loss, Botox, fillers and peels. “We usually start with an overall assessment with the patient and talk about his or her goals. We start patients on medical-grade skincare products and plan a roadmap for the procedures. If they are looking to achieve a transformative result, like weight-loss, eyelid surgery or the Brazilian buttlift to reshape the body, we start the process a year out.”
Secrets to Getting Photo Ready for the Big Event
While having a great photographer does wonders for looking great, Dr. Nazemzadeh explains how patients feel more confident. “Many patients come to us looking for solutions to problems you might not imagine until you are looking to get camera ready. For example, photos of holding hands or wedding bands can make patients self-conscious about aging hands. We offer them no-downtime, easy solutions to make one’s hands, face or neck look more youthful with fillers, peels and laser procedures before the photos.”
Hottest Cosmetic Trends for 2017 Wedding Season
At Sanctuary Cosmetic Center the top-requested non-invasive procedures include Serotonin Plus weight loss, Kybella to eliminate double chins, Botox and Dysport, dermal fillers, laser rejuvenation, and skin-tightening procedures. The top surgeries performed include facelift, eyelid surgery, breast augmentation, liposuction and Brazilian buttlift.
Dr. Rostami predicts, “There are more and more non-invasive procedure options for patients looking to get event-ready. Our fastest growing procedures are the non-invasive facelift and platelet-rich-plasma or PRP. PRP is growing fast among men as a non-invasive alternative to rejuvenate and thicken hair. However, surgery is picking up in popularity as well. More couples are spending time planning not only the wedding and honeymoon, but also the procedures to uplift themselves before saying ‘I do.’”
