Leesa Sleep and the Washington Redskins Team Up to Tackle Bedlessness

Leesa Sleep and the Washington Redskins Team Up to Tackle Bedlessness
Tweet Share

You’ve probably seen a variety of ads for bed-in-a-box companies pop up on your newsfeed. What makes Virginia’s own Leesa Sleep stand out? They conduct their business differently with a focus on community and giving back.

The Virginia Beach-based startup isn’t just changing the way everyone sleeps by designing a mattress at an incredible price. They’re also pursuing an audacious goal of ending bedlessness in America. Leesa’s partnered with the Washington Redskins, an organization that aligns with their social mission.

With the support of the Washington Redskins’ partnership, Leesa has been able to amplify its donations to the DMV area. To date they have partnered with Youth For Tomorrow, the Greater Washington Urban League and A Wider Circle to provide families with mattresses who otherwise wouldn’t have a safe and comfortable place to sleep. Leesa and the Redskins have donated hundreds of mattresses to those in need.

Leesa has donated over 18,000 mattresses to shelters across the country. Their giving back program has been at the core of their business from day one and is the heart and soul of the company. Leesa believes everybody needs a good night’s sleep, through their One-Ten Program they donate one mattress for every ten they sell.

Custom-made mattresses for the One-Ten Program go directly to nonprofit organizations that serve homeless and at-risk men, women and children. Leesa also plants a tree for every purchase made and gives a portion of employees’ time to volunteer for charities.

The mattress company also is a Certified B Corp, which means Leesa meets “the highest standards of overall social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability and aspire to use the power of business to solve social and environmental problems.” Leesa joins the ranks of industry leading social impact programs Patagonia and Ben and Jerry’s.

Leesa crafted a mattress for all body types and sleeping styles – side, back, stomach or anything in between. No matter how you sleep at night, you’ll get the same contoured, pressure-relieving sleep experience night after night.

The mattress is composed  of three premium foam for dense core support, but unlike other foam mattresses, it doesn’t sleep hot because of a specially designed top layer of Avena® foam that allows airflow.

Try the Leesa Mattress for yourself this season at any Redskins home game at the FedExField RedZone Lot. Explore the Leesa online and use code “Washingtonian” at checkout to receive $100 off a mattress.
