Parker & Ace: A New Type of Veterinarian Comes to H Street

First, flagship location of care-first, tech-forward veterinary care brand opens its DC doors this March.

Parker & Ace: A New Type of Veterinarian Comes to H Street

Imagine if every time your dog ate something suspect, you had a vet on call. Or you could always get a same- or next-day appointment when he seems a little off his game. And what if your cat actually liked going to the vet?

When Parker & Ace, the new full-service, membership-based veterinary clinic, opens its first location at 501 H Street NE this March, all of your pet’s (black and white) dreams will soon be realized.

Parker & Ace’s all-in-one approach to care is transforming the traditional veterinary experience. Annual memberships–founding memberships are $159/year–include complimentary office visits and 24/7 access to their vet team via telehealth services.

Members can access a comprehensive suite of services, including preventative and wellness care, sick patient and urgent care visits, as well as dental services and an on-premise pharmacy. Leveraging cutting-edge technology, Parker & Ace is also home to an on-site surgery suite and laboratory, complete with digital radiology, and ultrasound equipment for diagnostic testing. In aggregating key services under one roof, they offer a streamlined, tech-forward experience.

They say that if you want a friend in Washington, get a dog. It was advice that this city really took during Covid: It’s estimated that 60% of DC residents are now proud pet parents. In launching Parker & Ace in DC, Co-Founder and CEO Alexis McLaughlin (a dog owner herself: Lily, her Goldendoodle, is 5) is addressing the many challenges that these pet parents are facing.

“Our relationship with pets has changed, and technology has greatly evolved, and yet the experience of caring for our pets has remained the same for decades. Taking your pet to the vet can feel impersonal, confusing and stressful, and that’s what we’ve set out to change,” said McLaughlin. “The Parker & Ace experience takes the guesswork out of your pet’s health, with expert care you can trust, clear pricing you understand, and state-of-the-art capabilities – all at your neighborhood vet.”

This new type of veterinary care is only a W-A-L-K away:

  • Office fees included in your membership
  • 24/7 telehealth services
  • Same- and next-day appointments
  • Easy online scheduling
  • State-of-the-art equipment and streamlined technology
  • Cozy, stress-free environment

The inaugural location will be led by Dr. Adam Chung, who was trained in both general practice and emergency medicine at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Chung brings extensive experience to Parker & Ace, where he will lead the team practicing preventative medicine, tending to urgent needs, and promoting minimally invasive procedures. “I am excited to have the opportunity to use my experience to provide high-quality preventative care,” said Dr. Chung, “being proactive and catching things early is key to giving your pet a great life. That and big belly rubs.”
