Celebrate the Spirit of The White House Correspondents’ Dinner with these Signature Cocktails
Tweet Share

Celebrities, athletes, and press are set to descend upon DC for the upcoming White House Correspondents’ Dinner, headlined by comedian Colin Jost on April 27.

Even if you didn’t score an invite to the celebrated event, you can still get a taste of the spirited discourse at Spotted Zebra, with themed dishes and handcrafted cocktails inspired by the irreverent, and sometimes laughable, world of politics. The new restaurant is situated in The Center of It All, at the corner of 12th and H Street NW.

Here, you’ll find the menu is as diverse as the debates that fuel our city. Featured dishes include the Presidential PB&J, Winning Ticket Brisket, and Congressional Cheesecake.

Each handcrafted cocktail was inspired by whimsical political and historical quotes. Check out a few of their featured sips:

Honest Man

“An honest man in politics shines more there than he would elsewhere” -Mark Twain

The Glenlivet 12-Year Single Malt Scotch, Donna Rosa, Rabarbaro Root, Aperitivo Regans’ Orange Bitters, Lemon Twist

Just the One

“That lowdown scoundrel deserves to be kicked by a jackass – and I’m just the one to do it!” -Unknown Texas Congressional Candidate

Aperol, Cranberry-Hibiscus Elixir, Prosecco, Orange

Everything is Changing

“Everything is changing. People are taking their comedians seriously and the politicians as a joke” -Will Rogers

Don Ciccio & Figli Ambrosia Aperitivo, Fever-Tree Club Soda, Orange

By Golly

“I don’t care much for your law, but by golly, this bourbon is good.” -Henry S. Truman

Maker’s Mark Cask-Strength Bourbon, Piloncillo Syrup, Cherry Bitters, Smoked Cherry Wood Chips

Next Generation

“A politician thinks of the next election, a statesman of the next generation” -James Freeman Clarke

Rock The Vote – Choose Your Gin & Tonic Candidate

  • Gin of Choice: Bombay Sapphire, Tanqueray, Aviation
  • Fever-Tree Tonic of Choice: Elderflower, Indian, Mediterranean
  • Bartender’s Garnish of Choice: Herbs, Dried Fruit, Fresh Fruit, Edible Flowers

Join us at Spotted Zebra for signature dishes and handcrafted cocktails with a side of political banter.
