The JxJ Festival returns this year from May 9 to May 19 and Festival passes are already available! The festival features 60+ international screenings and concerts with guests from around the world. This year’s lineup includes international features, documentaries, and shorts, as well as renowned musical acts, including favorites Seth Kibel and Daryl Davis, The Polyphony Quartet, and the ever-popular The Maccabeats. Film highlights include Ophir Award-winning films Seven Blessings and Home, and César-Award-winning film, The Goldman Case.
From documentaries featuring groundbreaking women in fashion (Gaby Aghion in Looking for Chloe), philanthropy (Lottie Marcus in Who Are the Marcuses?), and filmmaking (Ruth Prawer Jhabvala in Merchant Ivory) to music events for all ages, the festival’s passes create a dynamic film and music experience enjoyed by everyone.
Meet International student filmmakers in person and discover films that illuminate the reality complex and dynamic life with disabilities. A profound and meaningful closing night begins with The 21%: The Lives Of Arab Citizens Of Israel and includes the glorious comedy, Running on Sand, about Aumari, a young Eritrean refugee living in Israel who is about to be deported back to his home country. After a spontaneous escape attempt at the airport, he is mistaken for a Nigerian soccer star who is supposed to arrive at the same time.
