Containing all the elements of a classic Shakespeare comedy, including a shipwreck and mistaken identity, A Comedy of Errors opens tonight at the Folger Theater. It’s running through March 6; get tickets ($30 to $60) at the Folger’s site.

The National Theatre of Scotland presents the critically acclaimed Black Watch. Based on interviews with soldiers who served in Iraq, the play explores what it means to be part of a modern war. Whether you’re an American Idol hopeful or just like to watch drunk people sing, you’ll enjoy the H Street Karaoke Competition. It’s a battle between the best performers from the regular competitions at Little Miss Whiskey’s Golden Dollar and Sticky Rice as they take the stage at the Rock and Roll Hotel to win a cash prize. 8 PM; no cover.
