Where & When: What to Do Tonight

Loud music, a look into local history, and an evening of Oscar contenders

Bust your eardrums at Face Off Electro vs. Dubstep at District Nightclub (2473 18th St., NW). These bass-driven music styles from a mix of local and national DJs will get you jumping, dancing, and head-banging. 9 PM; get tickets ($15) at the door.

Who knew that before it was a staid neighborhood in Arlington, Rosslyn was a lawless and rowdy community? The Rosslyn Renaissance is sponsoring an exhibit of photographs, renderings, and historical objects at Artisphere’s Work-in-Progress Gallery. Through March 13; no cover.

Get a leg up in your Oscar pool by checking out the Washington Film Institute’s screening of the Oscar-nominated documentary short films. The show starts at 7:30 at DC’s West End Cinema, and the $15 ticket includes a buy-one-drink-get-one-free happy hour at Sports Club/LA from 5:30 to 7:15. Read film descriptions and buy tickets at EventBrite.
