From the White House to Whoville, Washingtonians went all out with their pastry structures this year.

The Fairmont Washington created an intricate gingerbread Whoville, complete with plenty of Whos and their little Who houses.

Prepare for the gingerbread houses you made as a kid to be put to shame: Washingtonians go all out when it comes to their g-bread structures, and we’ve created a photo gallery of some of the more elaborate creations around town—from a 1,000-pound behemoth at the Ritz-Carlton Tysons Corner to a replica of one of the nation’s most well known buildings, complete with a famous pet on the lawn.
