A Charity Ball That’s All About Comfort

Sunday’s ninth annual Blue Jeans Ball, featuring guests in their favorite denim, raised nearly half a million dollars for the Capital Area Food Bank.

The ninth annual Blue Jeans Ball raised nearly $450,000 (and counting) to benefit the Capital Area Food Bank on Sunday night.

The ball, which took place at the Marriott Wardman
Park Hotel, was all about comfort. The 700 partygoers donned their best
pair of jeans while sampling offerings from more than 30
participating restaurants, including

First Lady
Michelle Obama was the honorary chair, and
Norah O’Donnell, the CBS chief White House correspondent, served as the mistress of ceremonies. To end the night, attendees danced along to
live music by the Elastic Waistband.
