Art and Soul
From 10:30 to 4, Art Smith’s Capitol Hill restaurant is dishing up a headache-busting à la carte brunch. You’ll find generous servings of hoppin’ John, the traditional Southern New Year’s Day dish made with pork and black-eyed peas; along with lemon/yogurt pancakes; house-cured salmon; and Champagne cocktails made with blackberry cream. There’s also a serious Bloody Mary: The $14 eye-opener comes with candied bacon, jalepeños, and horseradish. Click here for reservations and more information. .

CommonWealth
Beginning at noon, CommonWealth will serve its full brunch menu to recovering partyers. You’ll get a complimentary mimosa when you order any brunch entrée.

The Glen Restaurant
1000 Virginia Center Pkwy., Glen Allen; 804-727-1480
A special brunch buffet ($34.95 per person) will be served from 11 to 2. Mimosas, Champagne, and waffle and omelet stations along with midday fare such as salads, grilled chicken, and steak will fill the spread.

Georgia Brown’s
This downtown Southern restaurant’s famously decadent three-course brunch ($36.95 per person) will be served from 11 to 4. Take the edge off the morning with a Low Country Bloody Mary garnished with spiced shrimp or a Georgia Peach Martini. At the chef’s table, there’ll be Virginia ham, roasted turkey, and roast beef plus morning comfort food—bacon, creamy grits, eggs Benedict, and biscuit-battered French toast. That’s just for appetizers. Entrée selections include down-home classics—black-eyed-pea cakes with sautéed spinach, cornmeal-crusted catfish with collard greens and Carolina rice, and shrimp and grits with andouille sausage. The meal is rounded off with homemade pastries. Live jazz will play from 11 to 3.

Hank’s Oyster Bar
Hank’s popular seafood-heavy brunch menu—fried oysters, eggs Benedict with a crabcake, shrimp-and-scallop omelets—is available at both its Old Town and Dupont Circle locations beginning at 11.

Harry’s Tap Room
The Clarendon outpost of this casual American spot will serve brunch from 10 to 3. You’ll find overstuffed omelets, six kinds of eggs Benedict, and bananas-Foster brioche French toast among other indulgences.

Hudson Restaurant & Lounge
Even if you didn’t attend the New Year’s Eve masquerade party at this colorful West End hangout, you can still partake in its brunch from 2 to 7. The menu includes breakfast standbys from omelets to challah French toast. Wear your pajamas and you’ll get a mimosa on the house.
