Very Disappointing list. After living in DC for the past 12 years, I was expecting something other than we are a liberal haven with a bunch of people who believe they are so smart and important, but this list seems to break out that way.

There is very little on this list that makes living here relevant. Most of the items you could read about from 2000 miles away

These reasons are pretty unconvincing, especially if you’ve seen New York Magazine’s top reasons to love New York. Now that’s a real city, a real magazine and real website.

Funny how they bashed Paris as not beening a real star in the previous "reasons to live in DC" but in this one they clebrate Hilton HQ coming to Tysons Corner, I guess you will be seeing her after all. =)

I think this issue was great. You certainly can’t capture all of Washington’s greatness. There could be an issue on each of the 26 and then some.

@Carlos,

I agree that there could be a little more diversity in the posts but they did solicit requests from their readers offline and online. I saw them send out numerous requests so I would like to believe that they have incorporated some of their requests from their readers.

Have you ever thought some of your 26 reasons are so far really ridiculous? How many of the 600 thousand Washingtonians would agree with your reasons?

If you want to reflect DC life in your list, I suggest you include all the DC Street Festivals among your reasons.

I’m not talking about the the National Mall downtown boring parades, but the neighborhoods parties like the Caribbean Parade, the Fiesta DC festival, the Gay parade, the Emancipation Day parade, the Anacostia festival, block parties, etc. You know the real DC.
