5232 44th St., NW; 202-364-3277

Born and raised in the District, Julia Farr has the Washington look down pat—and for those who don’t know how to achieve it, she’s ready to help. At her lushly decorated boutique, the former attorney offers modern-conservative clothing as well as one-on-one wardrobe consultation, which can happen online, in the store, or at home.

Weekend wear comes in the form of Dallin Chase separates and White & Warren cashmere, while Catherine Malandrino, Adam, and Milly dresses get you fashionably set for work. Also available: versatile jewelry—Kara Ross is a major draw—and classic skirts, slacks, and sheath dresses designed by Farr herself. There’s also a minibar stocked with Champagne, wine, and Pellegrino.

This article appears in the July 2011 issue of The Washingtonian.
