Sugarloaf Mountain

There are 16 miles of trails at Sugarloaf, including several short paths to the often crowded summit. Avoid the throngs—and get a better view, with no vegetation in the way—from the two White Rocks overlooks on the five-mile Blue Trail. But you don’t need to hike five miles to reach the rocks. Instead of driving to one of the mountainside parking areas, continue west past the entrance gate on Comus Road and turn right onto Mount Ephraim Road. Drive 1½ miles to a parking area and follow the blue-blazed trail 1½ miles to the overlook. For more information, see sugarloafmd.com.
