I just left the Crumbs at 604 11th Street, NW Washington, D.C. 20001, and feel like I have to let someone know that the service was poor and the two young men that are working at that location could not have been any less helpful. After waiting for one to emerge from the back to help the six people that were waiting, I put in my order for two cupcakes and he sat one out and preceded to help the next person. When it came time to pay for my order, I had one cupcake and the other one that I wanted had been set aside for a patron behind me. She graciously offered to give up the cupcake, but the "all too professional" server failed to follow suit. I selected another replacement cupcake. I just need to say that this is simply bad business. At least have people working for your organization that act like they want to be there to serve customers.

I have had cupcakes from Gtown, Cakelove, Red Velvet, Crumbs and Gtown was the best one, till I tried the cupcakes from the new bakery in town Bakeshop... Their cupcakes are ridiculously moist and the icing to die for... I also like the fact that they serve more than just cupcakes. Like their banana pudding and oatmeal cream pie sandwich. I highly recommend it if you have nto been by there yet...

I can’t wait to try Crumbs. I passed one of their stores in NY once and I swear they had cupcakes the size of my head. I had, unfortunately, just eaten a huge meal so passed on the opportunity to try one. I’ve have a cupcake obsession that started with Sticky Fingers and intensified when Georgetown Cupcake opened (simply because GC is closer to me). I find Cakelove to be HIGHLY overrated. Their cupcakes aren’t anything special and the icing tastes like margarine. Their vegan cupcakes are the worse since they are dry and crumbly. It’s like eating dirt, but dirt has more flavor.

The number of cupcake shops in DC is a little crazy. CakeLove, Georgetown Cupcakes, Hello Cupcake, Red Velvet ... and more are coming? What’s so great about spending 4-5 bucks on a cupcake? And is there really a demand for all these cupcake shops? Not trying to be snarky, but I’d love an explanation as to this "cupcake craze."

CRUMBS is amazing. I have driven an hour out of my way to bring some back to DC when visiting NY. Finally a tasty cupcake shop!

Crumbs has AMAZING "gourmet" cupcakes. I had the pleasure of trying them last weekend and they are like the equivalent of Cold Stone Creamery ice cream - lots of toppings and mix-ins for their flavors. Mmmmmmm....
