A lesson in summer style, grease lightning, and a feast of Maryland blue crabs

FASHION:
Join April Yvonne, fashion stylist and founder of MYDCStyle.com, for her summer fashion series “Cocktail 101 Attire” at J&G Steakhouse. Working alongside some of the stylist’s favorite DC boutiques, Yvonne will show you how to dress for any summer soirée. Participating stores include Urban Chic, Zophia, Annalee’s Special Occasions, and the jewelry company Stella & Dot. Small bites will be served, and attendees will take home a swag bag filled with goodies. Tickets ($30) can be purchased at the event Web site. 6:30 to 8:30 PM.

THEATER: Grease, the original high school musical, is coming to the Olney Theatre Center through August 21. Set in 1959, the rock ’n’ roll classic follows a group of high school students navigating the worlds of love, social conflict, and sexuality. So grab some friends, and trade the summer heat for some summer lovin’. Tickets ($26 to $54) can be purchased at the event Web site. 8 PM.

TRIVIA: Calling all literary buffs! Strut your stuff at the National Portrait Gallery’s new trivia game: A pop quiz featuring questions about everything from Hawthorne to Hemingway. DJ Micah Vellian will spin tunes, and snacks and beverages will be available for purchase in the Courtyard Cafe. For ages 18 and up. Free; Music starts at 5:30 PM, the quiz begins at 6:30.

MUSIC: Believe it or not, tickets are still available to see Josh Groban at the Verizon Center. The Grammy-nominated artist is making his big-screen debut in the film Crazy, Stupid Love, in theaters this Friday. You can sample his latest tracks here. Tickets (starting at $58 plus fees) can be purchased at the event Web site. 7:30 PM.

FOOD: Bobby McKey’s Dueling Piano Bar is hosting an all-you-can-eat crab fest with live music and beer specials. The spread includes Southern Maryland blue crabs with all the fixings, corn on the cob, and hush puppies. Drink specials include $3 Coors Light on draft and $15 Coors Light “baby buckets.” Tickets ($45) can be purchased at the event Web site, but drinks aren’t included. Crab fest 6 to 9 PM; concert starts at 7.
