Where to Pick Your Own Apples and Pumpkins in Washington

Baugher’s Orchards and Farms

Pumpkins: Take a two-dollar hay ride to the pumpkin patch. Pumpkins are 49-cents per pound.

Apples: A one-dollar wagon ride to the orchard will get you one step closer to Red and Golden Delicious, Mutsu, Empire, Jonagold, Shizuka, and Fuji apples for $1.29 per pound.

Added fun: Try their apple fritters, apple cider doughnuts, and apple cider slushies. The weekend Fall Harvest Festival has a free petting zoo, pit beef, ham, and burgers, face painting, music, funnel cake, and homemade fudge.

Picking hours: Weekends in October, 10 AM to 5 PM.

Butler’s Orchard

Apples: Grab your Stayman apples for $1.89 per pound.

Added fun: Try the salted caramel apple roll, pecan bars, and sweet apple cider. Catch the Pumpkin Festival every weekend in October, 10 AM to 5 PM, for hayrides, a twisted corn maze, games, and live music. $11 admission.

Picking hours: Tuesday through Sunday, 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

Gaver Tree Farm

Pumpkins: Take a free hayride at noon or 5 PM to the pumpkin patch, or opt for a brief walk instead.

Apples: Free hayrides to the orchards run continuously on weekends, when you can pick Fuji and Cameo apples. Purchase a picking bag ($20 per peck; $32 per half bushel) for up to four people.

Added fun: Try the homemade fudge, caramel apples, and kettle corn. Enjoy the daily Fall Fun Festival ($7 per person on weekdays; $9.50 on weekends) with activities that include a corn maze, petting zoo, photo centers, games, and rides. See the Fall Fun Nights lineup for s’mores and a moonlit corn maze.

Great Country Farms

Hartland Orchard

Homestead Farm

Added fun: Look for apple cider, fall mums, and honey at the farm’s market. Three-dollar hayrides to the pumpkin patch run on Saturdays and Sundays, 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Picking hours: Open seven days a week, rain or shine, 9 AM to 5 PM through October 31.

Larriland Farm

Added fun: Shop for fresh apple cider, jams, jellies, and Flint corn at the farm’s store. A straw maze is open Tuesday through Sunday ($6.50 per person), or try the tractor-drawn hayride (weekends 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM, $4 per person).

Picking hours: Tuesday through Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM; Saturday, Sunday, and Columbus Day, 9 AM to 5 PM.

Mackintosh Fruit Farm

Milburn Orchards

Added fun: Pies, apple cider doughnuts, and caramel apples are available for sale. A $10-admission ticket to the Fall Festival Weekends (10 AM to 5 PM) includes hayrides, corn mazes, a tractor tire tower, a farmyard playground, pony rides, and more.

Rock Hill Orchard

Sharp’s at Waterford Farm

Added fun: Visit the country store for jams, jellies, preserves, and condiments. Browse the honey, cider, and baked good selection, as well. Plus, there’s a corn maze ($7 for adults, $5 for children).

Picking hours: Weekends through November 8, 10 AM to 5 PM.

Stribling Orchard

Apples: Pick-your-own Jonathan, McIntosh, Red Delicious, Gold Delicious, and Grimes Golden apples are $15 per peck, $25 per half-bushel.

Added fun: Visit the bakery during weekend hours for apple cinnamon raisin bread, apple cake, or pumpkin pie. Stop by the Harvest House for local cider, honey, jams, and more. The farm also has historic buildings, farm animals, and stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
