On Tuesday night, thousands of spectators packed onto 17th Street in Dupont Circle for the 29th annual High Heel Race. DC Mayor Muriel Bowser made an appearance at the event, where participants dressed in glitzy costumes ranging from the Fantanas to Michael Jackson and Lady Gaga.
Elevated by heels that were two-inches or greater, the drag queens raced between Church and R Streets. According to Fox 5, the winner, Tosha Salad, accomplished the feat in a mere 41 seconds. Thanks to Washingtonian reader Winston O’Neal, here are a few photos from the night.
