The Hot Ticket: Your Guide to Events on Sale

Every Thursday, we find out the hottest concerts and when they’re going on sale in the days ahead so you don’t have to do the work. Read on for this week’s heads-ups.

Taylor Swift, the 19-year-old chart-topping country singer, will perform at Merriweather Post Pavilion on Thursday, June 11. Tickets ($58) go on sale Saturday, March 14, at 10 AM. Get your tickets fast: She’s been known to sell out concerts in minutes. Lucky for you, presale tickets are available tomorrow from 10 AM to 10 PM with the password “VEN736.”

In addition to a comedy album and television special on Comedy Central, Dane Cook has a world tour planned for this spring. The nearest show will be at Baltimore’s 1st Mariner Arena on Friday, May 1. Tickets ($30 to $100) to his Global Thermo Comedy Tour go on sale Friday, March 13, at 10 AM; purchase presale tickets with the password “SUFI” until today at 5.

Chrisette Michele won a Grammy for her debut album, I Am, and she’s gearing up to release her sophomore release, Epiphany, at the end of the month. See her perform songs from both at the Birchmere on Monday, April 27. Tickets go on sale Friday at noon.

Neosoul songstress India Arie begins touring next month in support of her new album, Testimony: Vol. 2, Love & Politics, and she makes a stop at the Birchmere on Monday, May 4. Tickets go on sale Friday at noon.

Depeche Mode will tour in support of its 12th studio album, Sounds of the Universe. The North American tour kicks off at Nissan Pavilion on Tuesday, July 28.  Peter Björn and John will open the show; tickets ($29.50 to $89.50) go on sale Friday at noon.

Also performing at Nissan Pavilion is Canadian alternative-rock band Nickelback. Check out the show on Wednesday, July 29; tickets ($28 to $82.50) go on sale Saturday at 10 AM.

The All-American Rejects will be touring next month in support of their third album, When the World Comes Down, with opening acts Shiny Toy Guns, Ace Enders, and Vedera. The All-American Rejects will likely perform hits such as “Gives You Hell,” off their new album, along with the fan favorite “Move Along” when they come to the 9:30 Club on Tuesday, April 28. Tickets ($25) went on sale this morning.

After recording a new single titled “Can’t Stop Rockin’ ” together, classic-rock bands REO Speedwagon and Styx have lined up a summer tour, with opening act 38 Special. The tour comes to Merriweather Post Pavilion on Tuesday, June 23; tickets ($40 to $75) go on sale Friday at 10 AM.

Sharon Jones, who has been referred to as the queen of funk, is performing two consecutive shows with the Dap-Kings at the 9:30 Club on Friday, May 8, and Saturday, May 9. Tickets ($30) went on sale this morning.
