Things to Do

Where & When: This Week in Washington Nightlife

Free cupcakes! Beer dinner! And more exclamation-worthy events this week.

Monday, August 24: Beer Dinner
We can't think of a better way to start another long summer week than with the Beer Dinner special at Georgetown's Pizzeria Paradiso, where a four-course meal is paired with a sampling of six summer brews, including Lagunitas Little Sumpin Sumpin, and Allagash Burnham Road. There are two seatings: 6:30 and 9; tickets are $65 per person, tax and tip included. For reservations call 202-337-4936.

Tuesday, August 25: Free Cupcakes!
Dupont Circle's Hello Cupcake celebrates its first anniversary with free cupcake giveaways all day (while supplies last, that is). Single cupcakes will be given away, and no advance orders will be taken. The store opens at 10.

Wednesday, August 26: Meet the Parents
Screen on the Green and the Capitol Riverfront film festival wrapped up earlier this month, but Stead Park is still an option for movie junkies. The film series at this Dupont neighborhood park wraps up with a screening of the Ben Stiller comedy Meet the Parents. The film starts at 8:30.

Thursday, August 27: Fun After Five
The Phillips Collection throws another of its fun Phillips After Five events this evening. Wine and light appetizers will be available, courtesy of Veritas and Geppetto Catering. Also, the 1935 film Bride of Frankenstein will be screened. Admission is by donation.
