Screen on the Green Schedule Announced

The outdoor movie festival will screen four classics on the Mall in July and August.

Screen on the Green, the annual film series on the National
Mall, is typically one of the most popular outdoor events in the
summer months, so with the nation’s backyard undergoing an
extreme makeover, we were concerned for its status this year. Luckily,
organizers announced today that the festival will return this
summer, screening four classic films in July and August.

The schedule is as follows:

July 16: Western
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, starring Paul Newman and Robert Redford.

July 25: Frank Capra’s romantic comedy
It Happened One Night, with Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert.

July 30: 1953 war drama
From Here to Eternity, starring Burt Lancaster and Frank Sinatra.

August 6: Alfred Hitchcock’s most famous horror flick,
Psycho.

Films will be shown on a 20-by-40-foot screen and typically kick off around sundown. For more information, visit Screen on
the Green’s website.
