PARTY: Meet the filmmakers participating in this year’s GI Film Festival and enjoy an open bar and free appetizers at the festival kick-off party at Policy. COMEDY: The Looking Glass Lounge plays host to the arts-oriented talk show and podcast “You, Me, Them, Everybody.” This week’s guests include comedian Jimmy Meritt, singer/songwriter Meredith Bragg, and cartoonist Bill McKay. 8:30 PM; no cover.

MUSIC: The band Gandalf Murphy and the Slambovian Circus of Dreams has been called “the hillbilly Pink Floyd.” Hear for yourself when the folk-rockers play at Jammin’ Java at 7:30. Buy tickets ($18) at the venue’s site.
