Where & When: What to Do Tonight
New theater, a French singer, and easy spring cleaning
THEATER: Farragut North opens tonight at the Olney Theatre Center. Running through May 15, it’s based on the playwright’s experiences working for the 2004 Howard Dean campaign. Purchase tickets ($26 to $54) at the theater’s Web site.
For a night at the theater that’s less realistic try Capsule 33 at the The Shop at Fort Fringe (607 New York Ave., NW). The innovative piece is set inside a replica of a Japanese capsule living pod, which the main character (and his rubber ducky) refuse to leave. 8 PM; buy tickets ($25) at Ovation Tix.
GREEN: Have old batteries and electronics lying around? Head to Crystal City’s Power Purge & Shred for electronic recycling and document shredding. From 7 AM to 7 PM in the parking lot at 2001 Jefferson Davis Highway.
COMEDY: Demetri Martin brings his deadpan routine to Sixth and I Historic Synagogue in support of his new book, This Is a Book, a mix of essays, short stories, and jokes. 7 PM; purchase tickets ($27, includes a copy of the book) at Ticket Fly.
