PIC Announces Inauguration Events

The Presidential Inaugural Committee (PIC) announced today that it will hold an inauguration kick-off event at the Lincoln Memorial on Sunday, January 18, and a youth concert at the Verizon Center on Monday, January 19. Both events are free, though tickets for the children's concert will be required.

The Lincoln Memorial event follows in the footsteps President-elect George W. Bush, who held a free concert there in 2001 with performances by Ricky Martin, Charlotte Church, and Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Further details on both events, including who will perform, will be released at a later date.
