A & J Restaurant: Best of Breakfast and Brunch 2012

It doesn’t look like much—a large sesame biscuit with scrambled
eggs tucked inside—but we find ourselves craving it, like so many of the
nibbles at these cozy, graciously run dim sum shops, especially on those
harried mornings when we’re reduced to grabbing a refrigerated,
shrink-wrapped sandwich. Beyond the ingenious twist on an Egg McMuffin,
you’ll find steaming bowls of fresh, hand-pulled noodles, sliced, smoked
chicken, and a tasty salad of dried bean curd, peanuts, and cilantro.
Those long golden batons being borne through the room? They’re crullers, a
good, doughy companion for all the heat and spice. Saturday and Sunday 10
to noon.
