You love Corrine Bailey Rae’s charming British accent and jazzy vocals, and you’ve always been a sucker for Bob Dylan. But have you ever heard their songs played one after the other?

Tonight you can mix your jams like you mix your drinks—anyway you like them—at Busboys and Poets’ “In the Mix,” a night where you can play DJ and spin tunes for the crowd from your iPod. It’s one of several such events in the area, including iPod Jukebox at Saint-Ex near Logan Circle or the weekly iPod DJ at Galaxy Hut in Arlington.

Tonight head over to Busboys and Poets to sample new drinks from Smirnoff, the event sponsor, and play your tunes. A DJ will help you hook up and get the best sound. To make sure everyone gets in the rotation, you’ll be limited to two songs at a time. So you’ll be hearing other people’s music, but that’s kind of the point, says Busboys owner Andy Shallal.

Still have your headphones hooked up to a CD player? Don’t fret—iPods will be available for those who are without.

Samples of Smirnoff drink innovations will be free; cosmopolitans will cost $6, a discounted price.
