To Do: Patio Party at PS7’s

Penn Quarter dining room PS7’s just unveiled their new side patio, and tonight between 5 and 7 PM, they’re kicking off summer with an outdoor party. And while chef/owner Peter Smith is better known for intricately conceived spins on comfort food (veal cheek chips; french fries with Banyuls), tonight he’s relaxing by cranking up the reggae and serving backyard-style cookout fare.

The deal? For $10, you get two hot dogs and an icy bottle of Brooklyn Lager. And dirty-water dogs these aren’t: The beef-and-pork sausages are made in-house by Smith and nestled in buns baked by pastry chef Naomi Gallego.

If you can’t swing by tonight, the hot dog deal will run all summer long during happy hour (Monday through Friday from 5 to 7 PM), and you can even get a to-go pack of four dogs (sans beer) for the same price.

PS7’s, 777 I St., NW; 202-742-8550; PS7restaurant.com.
