The District’s Coffee Table

A reader tipped us off to this super-cute table (via Apartment Therapy) fashioned in the shape of our favorite nonstate. That’s right, it’s a coffee table in the shape of the geographical boundaries of the District of Columbia. The design, by DC furniture maker Justin Couch, “emphasizes the incompleteness of the form while using that same incompleteness to provide function and utility,” according to Couch’s Web site.

The table, available in black or white Formica or a walnut ply finish for $600, can be ordered online here. And be sure to check out the rest of Couch’s furniture designs, which include lots of great natural-finish, modern-looking wood pieces.
