Where & When: Fashion Edition

We’re sweating over discounted shoes, model mania, and going-out-of-business sales.

Tuesday, July 15: Woodley Park shoe spot Carbon starts its summer sale today. Comfy, cute, and considerably affordable shoes? Now you’re talking . . .

Wednesday, July 16: It’s baaaaack! Could we be any more excited that Project Runway season 5 debuts tonight on Bravo at 9? No, we could not.

Thursday, July 17: Calling all aspiring models! Evolution Look’s Paul Wharton—who also happens to be the fashionable face of the CW’s new TrenDC Web site will be holding the last DC-area casting call for America’s Next Top Model at Passport BMW in Marlo Heights from 5 to 8 PM. Click here for the runway rundown.

Thursday, July 17, through Sunday, July 20: U Street’s hip boutique Caramel is having a summer sale this weekend, with 25 to 60 percent off its summer stock. On Saturday, the store will also host its monthly L~Shandi Day, with 40 percent off the fabulous, vintage-inspired line from local designer Lara Akinsanya, along with personal consultations, custom alterations, and the debut of her new handbag line.

All month: And another one bites the dust. Say goodbye to 14th Street fashion staple Pop, which will close its doors August 3. At least it’s going out with a bang: Everything is reduced 20 percent right now, but the discount drops to 30 percent on July 18, 40 percent on July 24, and 50 percent on August 1. Here’s a little solace for Pop fans: The Brooklyn outpost will stay open, and a new e-commerce site will debut next month as well.
