Things to Do

Where & When: This Week in Washington Nightlife

What to do every night of this week for fun.

Monday: Kings of Leon
These musicians from Tennessee—three brothers, in fact—play rollicking guitar music with a Southern rock flair. Bonus: they put on a huge live show. Extra bonus: They’re playing with two other great bands, We Are Scientists and the Whigs. Certainly a show worth checking out. Tonight at DAR Constitution Hall. 7 PM; $37.50

Tuesday: Mates of State
You don’t get more pure pop than Mates of State, the husband and wife duo that churns out addictively tasty melodies with lush layers. Hear them for yourself live tonight at the Black Cat. 8 PM, $15.

Or Try…U.S. Navy Memorial to Observe Veterans Day

Wednesday: Coming Attractions Trailer Night
Let’s be honest: A lot of times when we head out to the theater, the trailers end up being our favorite part of the experience. Lucky for us, we can head to the D.C. Film Society’s Coming Attractions Trailer Night at the E Street Cinema, where they’ll screen trailers from upcoming movies like “Quantum of Solace,” and “Twilight.” $8; 7 PM.

Or Try…European Union Film Showcase

Thursday: Post-Election Win Party
Even if you voted for the other guy, surely you can get behind an open bar. That’s what’s taking place tonight at MCCXIII when the Women’s Information Network hosts a post-election happy hour. $10 for WIN members; $20 for non-members; and free if you join WIN at the event.

Or Try…One Life: The Mask of Lincoln
