Monday, March 9: Vandaveer at the Black Cat
Local folk-rock musician Mark Charles Heidinger a.k.a Vandaveer, plays at the Black Cat’s backstage alongside Birdie Bursch and Sharon Van Etten. Expect some new tunes–Vandaveer’s new album is slated for release next month in Europe. Read our interview with the artist for more details on the album. Tickets are $10; 9 PM.

Tuesday, March 10: Men’s Style
The Macy’s at Metro Center is hosting a night of shopping…for men! The men’s department, located on the second floor of the store, will have small appetizers and music, as well as special deals, including discounts and saving certificates. Brian Joyner and David Boris of Be Better Guys Web site will be there to impart grooming and fashion advice. 5:30 PM.

Wednesday, March 11: Artini at Founding Farmers
Tonight’s featured bartender for Artini, the annual competition where local bartenders are asked to create drinks inspired by the work of students of the Corcoran, is Jon Arroyo of Founding Farmers. 7 PM. Washingtonian is giving away two tickets to the Artini Gala. All you have to do is write a restaurant review on Washingtonian.com. Seriously, It’s that easy. Click here for more details.

Thursday, March 12: Independent Film Festival
The DC Independent Film Festival will be screening three films about Latin America, as part of its Cine Latino feature, at the Phoenix Theaters. Tickets ($11) can be purchased here. 7 PM.
