The Way Things Were

A glimpse into bygone Washington with Doc, Pinky, Loretta, and other local characters.

Many of the people and places photographed by Paul Feinberg are gone now, but the memories he captured live on in his pictures. Feinberg grew up in DC and has been contributing photo essays to The Washingtonian for three decades. His current exhibit, “Another Washington,” is on display through October 25 at the American University Museum in AU’s Katzen Arts Center.

For a glimpse of some of the photographs, check out our video below. Also, pick up the October issue of The Washingtonian, currently on stands.
