Today is your last chance to taste chef Black Schumpert’s three-course Christmas dinner, which has been running for nearly a week at Redwood. The menu begins with chestnut soup with truffles and Parmesan crema; then comes rack of lamb from Pennsylvania’s Jamison Farm and an Anjou-pear clafoutis. Extend the holiday one more day with a special tea in the lobby lounge of the Fairmont Hotel (2401 M St., NW; 202-457-5020). Offered Saturdays and Sundays throughout December, the two-hour tea features delicate sandwiches, miniature pastries, cranberry scones, and a selection of teas. It’s $35 for adults, $25 for children ages 12 and younger, and begins at 3.
Sunday, December 27
Forget dried macaroni or those expensive refrigerated ravioli: Learn to make your own pasta at Cookology (Dulles Town Center, 21100 Dulles Town Cir., Sterling). You’ll learn to make three pastas and three sauces: linguine with pesto; butternut-squash/ricotta ravioli with squash butter; and fennel-and-sausage spaghetti with dried-tomato rouille.
