Sidewalk Style: Fitted Floral

A high-school junior catches our eye with his sophisticated style.

Shon Armstrong, 17
Junior at Dumbarton High School

What he’s wearing:
Hat, cardigan, and shirt from Urban Outfitters; Levi’s jeans, and Polo boots.

Where he likes to shop:
Diesel, Rugby, American Apparel, Zara.

Tell me about your style.
“Well, we wear a uniform at school, but when I’m not in school I like to look nice. I like to dress in something that everyone else isn’t wearing. Some people clown me, some people like it.”

Any style hallmarks?
“I’m a boots man. And I like fitted leather jackets. I look out for fitted oxfords. They can be hard to find.”

Rachel says:
What I noticed about Shon’s look was the springy floral shirt he’d mixed in with more wintry staples. It reminds me of the mini floral prints made popular by the British textile brand Liberty of London. The line is gaining lots of buzz lately due to a collaboration with Target that hits stores and online mid-March. Look out for quirky floral ties for men, easy summer sundresses for women, home furnishings, and even a petal-bedecked bicycle.
