Chinatown pan-Asian joint Asia Nine has two deals this Father's Day. A $29 two-course prix fixe menu features dishes such as Korean sizzling beef and a shrimp and chili sauté, while a $20 takeaway BBQ box comes with an entree and two sides. We're thinking the latter would be a great idea for an impromptu picnic.

Sou’Wester— the Manadrin Oriental hotel’s Southern-inspired dining room—is hosting lunch and dinnertime cookouts. The “It’s All About the Grill” series features an on-the-lawn cooking demonstration by chef Eric Ziebold, who’ll discuss grilling techniques for steaks, sausages, and fresh veggies, before serving a variety of dishes.
