The local boys from Hotspur have hit the big time with a show at the 9:30 Club September 3. Last month, the Rockville natives were named the winners of the New Music Seminar’s “Artist on the Verge” contest. Tickets ($15) went on sale yesterday.
New York Times food columnist Mark Bittman heads to Sixth & I Historic Synagogue on October 5 to talk about his most recent book, The Food Matters Cookbook: Lose Weight and Heal the Planet with More Than 500 Recipes. Tickets ($12, or $35 for two tickets and a copy of the book) went on sale earlier this week.
Classical violinist David Garrett brings his unique musical sensibilities to the Birchmere February 22. Garrett’s performances often include classical sonatas as well as not-so-traditional orchestral versions of songs such as Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters.” Tickets ($55) go on sale August 6 at noon.
