Tonight’s Dress Like a Tourist Party at Saki encourages partygoers to wear fanny packs and binoculars while they get down to music by Hip Hop Dan and DJ Phil Real, nosh on sushi, and hit the bar. And if you’re short a shirt that screams Washington, some of the area’s most creative artists have submitted designs to refresh the city’s signature tee, and the winner will be crowned tonight, so at least you’ll be prepared for next time. Curious about the history, art, and science of beer? Nerd Nite (whose motto is “Be There and Be Square”) presents a D.C. Beer Week Kickoff Event at the Rock & Roll Hotel. Two presentations, including one by Greg Engert of ChurchKey on the history of craft beer, should provide you with a serious beverage education. The presentations will be followed by a performance by Rock and Barley. On tap? Anderson Valley Hop Ottin IPA, Great Divide Chocolate Oak Aged Yeti, North Coast Old Stock Ale, and Old Dominion Oak Barrel Stout. $10 for one event, $16 for both. Doors open at 6.
The Irish Tenors blend traditional and modern songs when they take the stage at Wolf Trap. Since their debut in 1998 on PBS, the group has produced seven best-selling albums. The current lineup is Anthony Kearns, Finbar Write, and Karl Scully. Lawn tickets start at $22, orchestra tickets at $42. 8 PM.
