Things to Do

Where & When: What to Do Tonight

Real Housewives do good, an artist launches a new show, and new ways of looking at Washington

Feeling guilty about your Real Housewives of Washington, DC fixation? Tonight, you can convince yourself that it's an addiction to charity if you stop by the Palette Restaurant and Lounge at the Madison between 7 and 11 PM, have a drink or even two, and watch this week's episode. 10 percent of the restaurant's proceeds during those hours will go to United Cerebral Palsy, so quaff a State Dinner (basil-infused vodka, triple sec, carrot juice and spices to help you fit in Michaele Salahi's sari, now that it's up for auction), a Who's Who in DC, or a Let's Gossip. No cover.

If you want more restful and contemplative entertainment, Poppy's holding an opening reception for painter Virginie Hoyaux's new show from 6 PM to 9 PM. Hoyaux's mysterious paintings show cities fading into the mist, smeared by fog. After a hot, bright summer, the pieces are a great way to dream yourself into fall. Free.

And if you're looking for weekend adventure, the Cultural Landscape Foundation kicks off a weekend of Washington tours at Room and Board. Picking plans has never been so luxe. The launch party for the tours will offer revelers gift cards to the host store and to Hank's Oyster Bar. 5:30 to 7:30 PM. Free.
